Magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) is indispensable in modern medicine. By using magnetic fields a view inside the body is possible. Worldwide each year over 60 million of these investigations are performed. Magnetic resonance imaging is particularly suitable for the study of soft tissues of the body (brain, spinal cord, muscles, tendons, etc.). Potentially harmful X-rays are not used in this method.
