Dermatology is known as the science of skin diseases. The dermatologist deals with the diagnosis, treatment and prevention of diseases of the dermis (skin), mucous membranes (mouth, genitals), hair and nails.

The transition between skin disease and cosmetic problems (e.g. minor acne, skin spots, wrinkles, dry skin or brittle nails) is smooth. The so-called aesthetic dermatology is increasingly important alongside the classic dermatology. Expert advice is important in both cases.
